COLAB COMMUNITY AGREEMENT

A LIVING DOCUMENT

This document serves as a living agreement between CoLab, its members and the community. CoLab staff is available to discuss this document and make modifications to keep this document as meaningful and current as possible.

CoLab provides an infrastructure for Roanoke’s entrepreneurial ecosystem through an environment of programs, education, mentorship and shared workspace. Focused on business growth, CoLab works hard to provide members and the community with a flexible, productive workspace and the right resources. Being a member or guest at CoLab means being a part of the innovative community that makes Roanoke a great place to work and live.

AS A MEMBER OR GUEST OF COLAB, YOU ARE EXPECTED TO:

  • Respect CoLab. This space is meant to be your home away from home and we are all responsible for treating it as such.

  • Agree to the Terms of Use. We advise that members carry insurance; we are not responsible for your items so please protect your property and yourself.

  • At CoLab we aspire to and expect those who work with us to share in the following values:

    • Collaboration: One of the great benefits of working in a co-working space is that you will meet unique people and have the opportunity to learn from and collaborate with them. Relish in this opportunity and be mindful that it goes both ways!

    • Openness: We believe in transparency and openness. We encourage open discussions and genuine feedback.

    • Community: CoLab is a symbiotic environment. It is important that everyone give and take equally from the environment, ensuring CoLab’s success and longevity.

    • Accessibility: CoLab is dedicated to being both physically and conceptually accessible to those who wish to be involved.

BY BECOMING A MEMBER OF COLAB, YOU AGREE TO BEHAVE IN A WAY THAT IS IN LINE WITH THESE VALUES:

  • Respect the space. This means more than keeping a tidy desk (though that’s important, too). CoLab’s success is dependent on each member taking ownership of CoLab.

  • Respect the visitors: When you have time and are in the collective space, please help CoLab staff by greeting visitors and answering questions.

  • Put back in what you take. We are all about sharing, so please contribute to the things you like to share.

  • Above all, respect your co-workers. We all have valuable ideas, products and services. Unwarranted solicitation or excessive neediness will not be tolerated.
